Make an image from a brief
Images are made in Studio, in the sidebar. The Visual Creator designs every picture on-brand: your logo, colours and fonts are applied for you.
- 1Format — Image is one still. Each card shows how long it takes and what it costs.
- 2Reference — Anything attached, marked Exact or Mood.
- 3Brief — What you want, in your own words.
- 4Shape — 4:5 for feeds, 9:16 for stories, 1:1, or 16:9.
- 5Look — Auto, Editorial, Bold & punchy or Minimal.
- 6Summary — What will be made, its cost and wait, before you commit.
- 7Make the image
- 8Your work — Everything the Visual Creator has made, newest first.
Open Studio and keep Image selected.
Describe what you want in the brief box.
See below for what makes a good brief.Optionally attach references, and pick a shape and look.
Leave them on Auto and the Creator decides.Press Make the image.
It takes about 4–7 minutes. You can leave the page: the picture lands in Your work and on your canvas.
Write a brief that works
Say three things: what it is for, the message, and the feel. Name anything that must appear.
A launch post for Supaforce: your whole marketing team in one app. Put our app screen on a laptop. Bold and confident.
- What it is for — a launch post, a story ad, a carousel cover. The Creator sizes and lays it out to suit.
- The message — the headline idea. Quote exact words if you want them used as written.
- The feel — calm, premium, playful, bold. Or pick a Look.
- What must be in it — your product, your app screen, a person, a place. Attach those as references.
You don't need to describe your colours, fonts or logo — those come from your brand. To leave the logo off, choose No logo.
Use a reference: Exact or Mood
Press + Add a reference to pick from your library, upload a file, use one of your published posts, or paste a link. Attach files uploads straight from your computer.
- 1Where it comes from — Your Library, Upload, Your posts, or Paste a link.
- 2Shelves — Products, Brand files, Inspiration, and pictures Made here.
- 3Read my store — No catalogue yet? Paste your store link to pull your products in.
- 4Connect your store — Connect Shopify or Webflow for a catalogue that stays up to date.
Every reference has a switch with two settings:
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Mood (default) | Borrows the feel, light and composition. Never copies the product, a logo or a person from it. |
| Exact | Reproduces the thing itself — your real product, your logo, your app screen — instead of redrawing it. |
Feature your real product
Press + Add a reference and open Products.
Your catalogue appears here once your store is connected or read. Otherwise upload a product photo.Pick the product and leave it on Exact.
Say where it should be in the brief.
“Our trainers on a wet city street at night”.
The product is placed into the scene rather than redrawn, so its shape, colour and print stay true.
Put your app screen on a device
For software, a real screen beats a drawn one. Attach a screenshot as Exact and ask for it on a device.
Crop the screenshot to just the app.
No browser bars or desktop around it — whatever is in the file is what appears.Attach it and leave it on Exact.
Name the device in the brief.
“Put our app screen on a laptop” or “on a phone”.
Your screen is fitted onto the device's display, sharp and unaltered. If it would be squeezed, it is fitted whole rather than cropped.
Make a carousel
Ask for one in chat — on Today or the Visual Creator's desk: “A 5-slide Instagram carousel on why small brands can't afford a full marketing team”. Each slide lands in Your work, and the Content Creator can write the caption to go with it.
Use, resize and share what you made
Open any picture in Your work to see what you can do with it.
- 1Edit — Change text, logo and layers.
- 2Open in Work or Canvas — Work to publish it; Canvas to keep working on it.
- 3Turn into video — Animate it — the picture becomes the first frame.
- 4Repurpose — The same design in other sizes for other channels.
- 5How this was made — Every step, model and check behind it.
- 6Use it in — Start an Instagram, LinkedIn or X post, a blog, an email or ad copy around it.
See how an image was made
How this was made shows who made it, how long it took, what it cost, and each checkpoint: your reference, the scene that was generated, and the step where your real product or screen was placed.
- 1The summary — Who made it, when, how long, and the credits used.
- 2Your reference
- 3The scene — Generated with a blank display, ready for your screen.
- 4Screen placed — Your real screen fitted onto it.
It is the quickest way to see why a picture came out the way it did — and what to change in the brief.
